More organic goodness. During hiatus my view of the interwebs was buzzing with earth day love. There was a fantastic giveaway of some great organic fabrics. That's how I found Swanky Swell, a line of orgainc cotton/hemp blend home decorator fabrics designed by Nina Jizhar. I can't believe I haven't stumbled upon this line earlier. I really love the rich vivid colors.
Gah, beautiful stuff. I've been looking for a good mustard for some trim in my living room and those mums, might just fit the bill.
Her etsy shop also has some really nice tote bags. I'm keeping an eye on this store. File these under more fabrics I want to touch, I just love their sheen.

Cottage Industrialist
Well, on a trip down the internet rabbit hole I found a local blogger/fabric creator/crafty chic. Yay! And seriously did I mention she makes these great fabrics over on spoonflower? That means there are so many great printing options. She doesn't know it yet, but I'm going to sell some of these puppies in my shop, and I'm going to befriend this awesomely talented woman.
Um...seriously, those peacock feathers are awesome.

Timber
I'm back, I'm committing to posting everyday for the next few weeks to get back into the swing of things.
I found Timber via Film in the Fridge. Check out the awesome quilt she made with the Timber Line.
This is Jessica Levitt's first fabric line. And it is pretty great. Here's my favorite, yes it's blue, grey and green. Shocker.
And for good measure, check out these lovelies Jessica is working on. Crafty one indeed.

Temporarily Down
Where've I been?
1. Lost is coming to a close, and my long obsessed self spends far too much time analyzing this show. I sure will miss it, but when it goes my calendar should free up immensely.
2. Last week was taxes. No further comment necessary.
3. I started back to work last week - my days are now filled with washing bottles, washing pump parts, filling bottles, packing lunches, loving on the boys in the evening, working out logistics of our day, and oh yeah, my day job.
4. Day job sent me out of town twice last week, adding another layer of complexity to the days.
4. I got sad to leave boy 2.
5. We went to Florida for the weekend to visit family.
I'm committing myself to getting back here regularly again. Promise.

Lemon Bars & Coconut Cream Pie & Peach Cobbler & Spiced Cupcakes
The grocery had strawberries on sale today. I ended up with 4 containers full. Boy 1 will do some damage to them, but I think I'm going to need to make something, too. Some dessert recipes I've had bookmarked, all from beauty everyday. Not quite what I've been looking for, but seriously tempting treats.

Kitchen Ideas
NOTE: Weekend posts will be off topic tangents. Feel free to disregard.
We have a very very small kitchen. It was the last room we painted, and I'm not a huge fan of the meek baby (not in a good way) yellow paint color I chose. And the cabinets, and the counters, bleh. So of all the rooms in the house, I find myself with kitchen envy most of all.
Spotted on ohdeedoh from The Inspired Room. Now we're talking.
I like to dissect home pictures, so that one day when the nice contractor man comes up to me and says 'what exactly would you like your house to look like, mam?' I can say 'oh, yes, please refer to the following photos.' And he well say 'oh, yes, I will make that happen pronto, thank you for being so thorough. Please enjoy your fabulous vacation, when you return your house will be exactly as requested.' This is how home remodels go, right?
Like: the white, the natural wood, the natural light, some plant life, the hanging lamps, the small pops of yellow and blue (shock). I don't usually love stainless steel (trendy?) but the brushed metal here works for me.
Dislike: Nothing, really.

Scarlet Fig
More bright and cheery. What is it springtime or something? CANNOT get enough of the bright colors. I found Scarlet Fig from Ashley at Film in the Fridge. Ashley's made a couple of quilts and pillows with these great prints. Lookie:
Laurie Wisburn is the designer, and she's got a new line headed to Kaufman Fabric's this spring. I'm going to keep my eyes open for it. Such great stuff in super colorways, I can totally see any of these in boy 2's room.
The holiday line totally works for me.
